Assignments
The activated dates listed below are hyperlinks that will take you to the assignments. Please remember that the dates of the hyperlinks indicate when the assignment is given, not when it is due.
From September 9 to May 26, students will be assigned homework to complete for Friday's class lesson.The homework will include memorizing one stanza of poetry every week, indicated on the weekly assignment page posted above right. There will be no classes on November 25 (Thanksgiving week), December 23 and 30, and April 7, and no assignments will be given for those dates. The tentative Speech Night date is Friday, May 19 at 6:30.

Reading and Study Material
The spelling lists contains words from the reading as well as phonics instruction.
There are three books that are used in the Foundations literature course. The Foundations Anthology (Reader) and Study Guide may be purchased on Amazon, while the Grammar and Poetics Textbook can be found only Lulu Publishers.

Books and Book Reports
A format sheet for fiction and non-fiction book reports. You may choose your own book with my approval or find something on this book list for Foundations students. Students may choose a book of their own with the teacher's approval or choose one from this list.
Toward the beginning of the year when we read about the Peloponnesian War, we will be doing the Parthenon Project, which students will be directed to download.
Here is a list of book marks for the Grand Prize. Collect 25 bookmarks and receive a grand prize at the end of the year—or collect all of the ones marked green! The winner will be announced the first week in May. The last day the winner will turn in the bookmarks for a prize!
Look over your part for the Speech Night Play. If you want more to say, be creative and write it, and if I like it, I will put it in!
